  • Meatball – my beautiful son, forever 2-years old.   He passed away on May 27, 2009.  He is now the brightest star in the sky, who has forever changed all the lives who were lucky enough to be touched by him.
  • Monkeyface - my 7 year old daughter, who struggles with ADHD, an absent father and an emotional journey unique to her.  God help me, I’m GOING to do what is right for this little girl.

  • A-M – An old friend with a huge heart and a winning smile.  Such a poetic soul, struggling to find her stride and amazingly unaware of the love that she radiates to all of those around her.
  • Handcuffs – A love affair that taught me valuable life lessons and ultimately served to increase my own strength.
  • Ms. P – My partner-in-crime.   This woman is amazing.  The most incredible mother I’ve ever had the privilege of being around, a tremendous friend, and the one that I find myself on the phone with, at bizarre hours, giggling about idiotic things, because no one understands the need to giggle at them quite the way she and I do.   The thing I wish the most for her is that she could look into a mirror and see herself the way that I do:  as a strong, competent, incredible person who is capable of anything.  Absolutely anything.
  • The Naked Musician –  A friend before a lover, someone who taught me to use my inquisitive eyes on myself.  A man who challenges me daily to be an even better version of myself.
  • Nursing Mama – The intricate, incredible woman that encourages and inspires me.   We weren’t close intellectually when we were close geographically, but I’m changing that.  She was selfless enough to walk this journey 1 year before I do, and wrote a how-to, even if she didn’t realize she was.
  • OLP (Old Lady Pants) – The male counterpart to A-M.  Like a brother to me, always ready with quick wit or comforting shoulder and can flip that switch lightning fast, yo.  Never judgmental, and always ready to be the friend you need him to be.
  • Rock – My male counterpart, my best friend.  An incredible man who was kind enough to grace me with his giving nature, his often quirky insight and his unending compassion.  Through my friendship with him, I have learned to band-aid my broken heart, re-embrace small joys, and allow myself to be vulnerable again.
